Overview

The Inventory Coordinator primarily responsible for monitoring warehouse inventory and performing cycle counting duties to ensure that all materials are properly verified and are reflective of reported inventory. The Inventory Coordinator will maintain inventory accuracy through proper counting, processing of material reports and transfers. They will also assist the Warehouse Supervisor and Master Scheduler in locating materials.

Responsibilities

  • Complete cycle counts in a timely manner based on the cycle count schedule established/ monitored by the Materials Manager. 
  • Follow Piston cycle count procedure, compare physical counts to ERP record balance and document results in the cycle count log.
  • Research and investigate inventory discrepancies and submit accurate inventory reports.  Recount as necessary to ensure count integrity.
  • Report final discrepancies and follow Piston procedures for inventory adjustments.
  • Assist in determining root causes on inventory discrepancies and help implement corrective actions to eliminate repetitive errors.
  • Assist Warehouse Supervisor with locating materials for pre-production build events.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Communicate regularly with Master Schedulers, Materials Manager, and Warehouse Materials team members.
  • Assist in physical inventory preparation and conducting physical inventories as needed.
  • Any other tasks or projects may be assigned by the Materials Manager or Warehouse Supervisor.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of one year of related experience.
  • Associate’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Moderate understanding of material flow, layout, shipping, receiving, warehousing, and logistics processes and best practices.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work in a team as well as independently.
  • Must be able to follow procedures, best practices and report unsafe conditions.
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting business performance data.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word at an intermediate level.
  • Moderate communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment.
